I’m Sallyanne - a poet, arts facilitator and access support worker. I offer creative workshops, poetry mentoring and editorial feedback, and provide access support for funding applications and project delivery.
I’ll help you to plan and deliver your application, project or creative aims using a collaborative problem solving approach. With more than 25 years of experience in delivering services and projects, I offer methodical, encouraging support from planning stages to end goal.
As part of my practice of creative community, I give one free hour of funding support or poetry mentoring every month, priority to disabled artists and writers. Just get in touch to request it.

About me
A poet of 10 years and early-stage visual artist, I’m exploring ways to connect these two worlds. My debut pamphlet Salt & Metal is published with Fawn Press, and you can buy a copy of this and my other publications here. I believe the act of creativity should be available to everyone, but structural barriers prevent access to the arts in many ways. I work to remove these barriers, making way for people to discover and develop their own artistic practice. I do this by supporting disabled and neurodivergent artists to make funding applications and deliver ongoing projects, and by running craft and creative writing sessions.
My sessions with individuals and groups are gentle spaces to process experiences and nurture your creative desires. I provide a variety of different tools to ease the burden of grant and project admin, freeing you up to create.

Finding your way around a funding application can be scary, or feel impossible. Working with your specific access needs, I help you put your ideas into words, navigate online forms, and even liaise with organisations on your behalf. I can also provide ongoing support to help you deliver your project.
I’ve supported dozens of artists working in all sorts of art forms to submit funding applications and implement successful projects. I work via various funding routes including DYCP, NLPG and the Access to Work scheme, as well as smaller arts organisations and funding bodies.
We can work together online or in-person, depending on your location.
Prices start from £40 an hour or £300 a day and many organisations such as Arts Council England (ACE) will cover some or all of these costs for you.

I lead workshops for seasoned writers as well as people with only a little knowledge of poetry, and varying levels of English literacy. I work with all kinds of groups and age ranges, and each workshop is tailored to the experience and needs of the group.

Collaging is an easy and mindful craft that everyone can get involved in. It’s a low-demand, low cost practice that works all sorts of settings.
Using a variety of found materials, I’ll gently guide the group in cutting, ripping and sticking paper to create unique visual art pieces such as pictures, coasters and zines.
Prices start from £150 for a 1 hour session, within 10 miles of Stourbridge.

A note on pricing:
These prices are a guide, and represent the cost to financially stable or funded artists. I understand these rates may not be accessible to everyone due to structural barriers. I can usually find a way to work within your budget, so please get in touch to discuss it further.
I’m also trying to free myself and my work from capitalist structures, so I'm also open to resource exchange. If you have skills or other resources you want to swap with me then let’s talk!

Whilst we are in time of huge financial crisis, I believe it’s vital to pay artists fairly. My rates are based on calculations by the Artists’ Union England and the Freelance Ready Reckoner.
